The final round of the 2015 South Australian Rally Championship will be held this weekend, with young local driver Guy Tyler along with Navigator Steve Fisher aiming to wrap up the Championship after a stellar year.

The event, Scouts Rally SA, will once again be held out of Mount Pleasant in the Adelaide hills. It will be the sixth time Guy has entered the rally, but will be by far the most important, as he aims to win up the South Australian Championship in his 777Rallysport Lancer Evo 5.

Guy and Steve have won the other two rounds of the Championship, the ASP Southern Rally back in May, and the Copyworld Walky 100 in August. They hold a 25-point lead over closest rival Jamie Pohlner, and are expecting a good fight for the title.

“I’m so excited and nervous for the rally, I’ve been waiting for the opportunity to win a Championship like this for years now, and it would mean so much to me and everyone who has supported me along the way if we can pull it off. But I also realise that although we have got a good lead in the points, it is far from over, and I’m sure Jamie will be pushing us all the way”. – Tyler

The team are also entered in the Australian 4wd Series, and are keen to keep up their tremendous pace as shown in the last round in Coffs Harbour where they were leading up until engine failure stopped them in their tracks. Hence it has been a hectic turn around for the team, who has had to build a new motor, fit it, plus test and tune it in the quick six-week turn around between events.

Tyler continued- “I’m so thankful for everyone who has helped us build the new motor and source all the parts in such short period of time, without the amazing help we have received we wouldn’t be able to enter the event which would have been a shame considering how well our year has gone”.

“We have also opted for a safer tune for Scouts Rally SA, given how important the State Championship component is for us. I would love to go for another good result in the 4wd ARC, and I know my natural reaction will be to go flat out, but we’ve got to think of the bigger picture”.

Scouts Rally SA will be held from the 23rd-25th of October, and will include special stages in and round the Mt Crawford forest as well as a spectacular super special stage to be held at the Gawler Showgrounds.
